Whew! Y’all… I’m still floating in a desert daze from AIFD Symposium 2025 in beautiful, bold, sun-drenched Palm Springs! The colors, the creativity, the community — it all bloomed brighter than a desert cactus in full sun.
This year’s symposium wasn’t just a gathering — it was a full-on floral family reunion. Designers from all over the world brought the heat (and not just from the triple-digit temps!). The stage programs? Jaw-dropping. From structural artistry that defied gravity to lush, emotive storytelling through flowers — each presentation reminded us why we do what we do. This industry, this artform — it’s pure magic.
I was beyond honored that Ace in Full Bloom got to create the presentation bouquets for each designer who graced that stage. Y’all know me — I believe in celebrating artists loudly, and it was such a joy designing those bouquets with heart, color, and a whole lotta flair. Watching presenters receive their blooms after pouring their passion into a program? That was the good stuff — the cherry on top of a blooming sundae.
One standout moment? Sitting in the audience surrounded by friends, mentors, and future floral stars — feeling the beat of inspiration in the air. You could literally hear the “oohs,” “ahhs,” and gasps as petals flew, mechanics revealed themselves, and stories came to life. It was education and elevation wrapped in beauty.
And let me tell you — Palm Springs was the perfect backdrop. From mid-century vibes to bougainvillea-covered balconies, the whole place felt like a living, breathing mood board. Even the sunsets showed off for us.
To everyone who presented, attended, designed, volunteered, or simply showed up with heart — thank you. This year reminded me just how lucky I am to be part of this ever-growing, always-blooming community.
