There’s something magical about stepping into Scottsdale, Arizona—where the desert blooms meet the brightest minds and biggest hearts of our floral industry. The Society of American Florists Annual Convention felt like more than just a gathering; it was a family reunion, a spark of inspiration, and a powerhouse of ideas all rolled into one.
From the moment I arrived, I could feel the buzz. Old friends to hug, new faces to meet, and conversations that reminded me why I fell in love with this industry in the first place. We laughed, we learned, we shared, and we dreamed up the future of floristry together. The business sessions were packed with golden nuggets—everything from fresh marketing ideas to innovative ways to run a more profitable shop. I walked away with my notebook full and my heart even fuller.
And then came one of my favorite parts: the Outstanding Varieties Competition. Talk about a flower lover’s paradise! A sea of blooms, each one begging for attention, showing off the incredible work of breeders and growers. And guess what? Exotic Berry from FloresVerdes earned a blue ribbon! To say I was over the moon is an understatement. That little ribbon is more than just an award—it’s a reminder of the passion and dedication that drives us all forward in this beautiful business.
What I love most about SAF is that it’s not just about flowers, it’s about people. The connections, the friendships, the late-night talks over cocktails, the ideas scribbled on napkins, the encouragement passed from one designer to another—it all matters. Scottsdale was proof once again that when florists come together, we don’t just talk shop, we lift each other up, we celebrate wins big and small, and we walk away ready to make our industry bloom even brighter.
So here’s to the Society of American Florists, to Scottsdale, to blue ribbons, bold ideas, and the friendships that keep this journey so sweet. Until next year, my friends—let’s keep living our daydream, one flower at a time.
With petals & passion,
Ace in Full Bloom
