We Bloomed Bright at Chelsea in Bloom — and We Won!

while I was still in steel-toed boots working the oil fields, that one day I’d be standing beneath a cascade of flowers on the streets of London — holding a trophy for Chelsea in Bloom — I’m not sure I would’ve believed you. But here we are, and I’m still trying to soak it all in.

WE WON.

Chelsea in Bloom is one of the most prestigious floral art competitions in the world — a celebration where flowers take over London’s iconic Chelsea neighborhood, spilling from storefronts and transforming streets into living art galleries. To be part of it is an honor. To win? That’s a dream realized.

Our installation, inspired by the opulence of Madame Pompadour, was a love letter to floral decadence, historical drama, and bold modern storytelling. We wanted it to be both lush and layered — a bit cheeky, a bit royal, and totally unforgettable. Think rococo meets rebellion, with peonies, garden roses, and a touch of avant-garde attitude.

What made this win so powerful wasn’t just the beauty of the design (though she was a showstopper). It was the teamwork, passion, and grit it took to bring her to life — from jet lag and flower shipments to scaffolding, sketchpads, and gallons of floral glue. Every petal placed told a story: of resilience, reinvention, and the power of creativity to move people.

This award isn’t just for me — it’s for every florist who dares to dream bigger. It’s proof that flowers are more than decoration. They’re expression, protest, joy, and healing all wrapped in color and scent.

To all the florists, artists, and supporters who cheered us on — thank you. And to Chelsea in Bloom: thank you for creating a stage where florals become fine art and florists become storytellers.

We bloomed loud. We bloomed bold.

And we’re just getting started.

With petals and pride,

Ace
